It’s a funny old world.
Near on 12 months ago, I was saying my sad goodbyes to friends at PwC and bracing myself for a new job - and here I am again. Today, after just short of a year, I left Royal Mail.
This time it’s to join Conchango, one of Europe’s leading digital / web consultancies.
I’m going to be trained as a ScrumMaster, which I think is similar to a project manager except that instead of planning the work to be done, I will be leading and coaching the team (who will do the planning) and ensuring they stick to the Scrum processes. Excellent! As far as I know, I will be working on web and ecommerce / new media type projects in the retail sector. Double excellent!
It all sounds brilliant - and yes, I know there is a sense of deja vu about all this, but this time I feel more certain that it will work out well.
Royal Mail gave me great hands-on experience but deep down I am probably a consultant at heart.
So I’m looking forward to my new adventure, which begins on 2nd June. Between now and then, I’ll be doing loads of reading about Agile and Scrum and making the most of my remaining time off.
And the sun is shining, which is always a good sign.
